How long do shin splints usually last?!
Question: I've had pain in both my shins since the 17th, and it's getting a bit old. I have a doctor's appointment set up, but I was wondering if there's a timeframe for how long shin splints last, and if I should be worrying it might be something worse

I used to get them every winter when I danced. They didn't really go away until I quit ballet. After that they healed in probably 3 months. The key is to limit mobility... good luck with that though!
just try advil and NO excercise, use ice packs,heat packs whatever helps alleviate the pain. They can take form 4 or 5 days to a month to completely heal, they're very annoying, I know, but be patient, stretching , massaging can help some!

I hope you find out, cause I'm having pretty much the same problem, have had it for several weeks. Does yours go around to the back of your leg too?
as with any injury due to excersise or sports always consult a doctor, with that being said my non medical advise is to rest your shins for the time being e.g. no running, excessive walking or sport activity until you see your doctor. try using 20 minutes of ice followed by 20 minutes of heat once every 2-4 hours to ease any swelling or pain. I would also recommend taking a pain reliever such as motrin, advil or aleve. again your doctor will know best
