Pains in stomach...no apparent reason?!

Question: When I wake up in the mornings, I have an awful pain all throughout my stomach. It's not anything I ate, because there hasn't been a pattern as to what I eat=stomach pain. It happens out of the blue. Is it some sort of ulcer?

I have this problem with my son who's just 10, and with him it's stress induced. Yes, stress.

I found out that he was being very poorly mistreated several years back at school, by his teachers and I ended up getting one of them fired. It's pathetic how abusive grown ups can be to children, so now I watch him like a hawk.

I had to bring him to psychologists and a gastro-intestinal specialist (pediatric of course) and it ends up that he's a highly gifted child. There's nothing wrong with him other than perhaps some mild IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) but what was happening was that his giftedness was causing him to be miles ahead in school, he found it boring, had his tasks done much faster than the other kids (most of whom were the other end of the spectrum, special needs) and giftedness is also special needs because he needs more challenging tasks and projects, something that isn't addressed at a very young age (if ever in some schools).

Anyhow, he tends to internalize things whenever he can't cope with them, and with the abuse he received at school (yes ABUSE) the teacher sat him in the corner all by himself all year long, making him feel like an outcast, and all this unknown to me but when I found out I nailed that ****** to the wall.

So anyhow, I moved him to a better school and this year he had another teacher I suspected wasn't good, and sure enough she started with the same kind of treatment, and again his stomache woes appeared.

So now he is on medication LOSEC which reduces the acid in the stomach so it can heal.

I suffered from the same thing when I was younger and I've been ok for many decades now, but stress has a physiological impact on the body don't you ever doubt that.

I think you have too much stomach acid and it's eating away at the stomach lining while you sleep.

See if you can go to the doctor and get this or a similar prescription.

I believe Zantac is available OTC now so you can try that dose, take it at NIGHT when your stomach is the most empty, and see if it helps.

In the meantime avoid COLA, anything carbonated, CAFFEINE, chocolate, watch out for dairy, you could be lactose intolerant, and you should avoid spicy foods for a while (chips too) and fatty foods, all which make the stomach acids work harder.

Try to keep something in your stomach all the time, eat 6 little meals a day rather than 3 big ones or worse still nothing at all, this way your stomach has something to digest.

My little guy just wants white rice seasoned with some chicked soup powder and a dash of olive oil when his tummy hurts. That stays down well, fills him up too. Avoid orange juice or anything too citric too.

Hope that helps.
Good luck.

I had that for a long time then finaly i got this blood test and i had some sorta bactireal infection that can cause ulcers so i got put on medication and it rearely happens, like 2 times a month maybee. I would go to the doctor and see if you can get a blood test just to cheak and make sure.
