Intense Pain/tightness in stomach below my chest?!

Question: I don't have insurance, so I'm hoping someone may know what's wrong.

A couple of days ago, I woke up with pain in my stomach, and now today. Pain I never felt before. The pain seems to be coming from the center area right below my chest. The area where you quickly lose your breath should you get punched there. :)

It feels *somewhat* similar to kidney stone pain, but even more intense. I can't breathe so well and the area tightens up with pain. It has lasted any where from 5 to 20 minutes and then completely goes away. I've only experienced this twice.

My brother had the phone ready as it intensified. I really thought it was going to lead up to a very serious state of condition.

This is NOT something to fool around with. You need to get to the Dr. ASAP--it could be heart, gall bladder, appendix, anything. You may need to go to the emergency room as opposed to the urgent care, or regular Dr. appt.
It could be as simple as a pulled muscle, or as bad as your heart.
Just please, get to the Dr. ASAP.
Take care.

This is potential something serious. Contact your doctor!

It could be so many things, it's impossible to give a definite answer. It could be a gall stone, or a stone in the neck of the gall bladder which is causing that sort of "kidney stone" type pain. If that is the case, you need the stone removed.
It could be constipation or a bowel obstruction. For simple constipation you can try drinking more fluids in the evening to see if you can't get things moving. If it's an obstruction, that is a medical emergency.

Are you sure you didn't do some heavy lifting or intense pushing or pulling or shoveling snow over the past couple days? That would indicate severe muscle strain. Ibuprofen and some heat would help that. However, if you have an ulcer, using ibuprofen would be a terrible idea. That is why you can't be diagnosed without physical exam.

You don't say if you're having any other symptoms like nausea, unusual bowel movements, jaundice, fever. If the pain continues, it would be cheaper for you to see a doc at this point than to possibly have to treat something very serious.
