Does it hurt getting braces?!

It doesn't hurt to put them on, it's just actually boring while waiting until they finish putting each bracket. The only time when it hurt putting them on was when the dentist accidently applied pression on a sensitve part in my mouth. Honestly I was freaked out too but it's fine. Your teeths are going to hurt after you have put them on and tighten them, though the pain is just 3 on a scale on 10 for me.
YES it does hurt. I've had braces for a year now. The weirdest thing is getting them first on. but you'll get used to them in 5 days. When you get a new wire, it takes 3 days to get used to it. But doen't worry, it doesn't hurt extremely bad, just eat jello every time your braces make your gums hurt. Hope that helps!!! ( :
not really, you'll feel some pressure against your gums because they put this really uncomfortable thing in your mouth and keeps ur mouth open!
It takes 4-5 days to get used to braces, I have had braces on for a year now.
But eat soft foods the first few days, because it does hurt while eating.
One for about 4 days after you get them on, but every time you get a new wire they will hurt for like 2 days. After time goes on though when you are around the middle to end of them, they only hurt for like 1 day or less. Then it hurts the worst when they are taken off, because the cement has to be pulled off ( really feels like they are going to pull your molars out) Other then that they are fine. Retainers not that bad either.
Don't be scared, it's not that bad. Your mouth will be sore at first, but within a week you'll feel back to normal and the braces will feel like they're an extension of your teeth and you'll be used to them there! They suck but are worth it in the end, I promise.

It hurts for a few days when you first get them on.
Then it hurts everytime they tighten them,
And it hurts when the wires grind on your cheeks and lips.
Sorry but you are in for some pain.
But its worth it.
Lots of people say that it hurts, I guess it depends on your pain tolerance level. I didnt think it hust, but it was like an uncomfortable pressure being put on my teeth.
I wouldnt worry about it too much...also if you think its going to hurt real bad then your brain will make you think that it does, whether it really does or not.
