Getting up: You'll feel more awake once you've got up if you get up straight after you're alarm goes off than hitting snooze.. that'll just make you feel knackered all morning. If you wake up with a light which slowly increases before you're awake (like a sunrise) you will feel wide awake when you alarm goes off... not sure where you'll get one from but you can get alarm clocks that make this effect called something like natural light alarms or sth.
To sleep: Warm milky drink is always a winner.

take a sleep aide. but take it 8-10 hours before you need to get up so you can sleep it off.

and to wake up, hot shower and a five hour energy shot.

Warm milk to sleep or get absolutely drunk...
Bright light to wake up...

you force yourself out if your up but REALLY tired rinse your face with cold water xx

Drink a sleepy time tea, works for me. Also try meditation...
As for getting up, just have the dedication to get up! I turn my alarm up all the way and put it on the other side of the room so I HAVE to get out of bed. That is the best way for me.

for me i set my watch alarm and i sleep with my are with my watch right nest to my ear and once i hear it i wake up for some reason

Just drink a glass of warm milk.....just see if u have turmeric powder in the kitchen...if yes...add it to the milk...or the least u can do is add honey......happy sleeping:-0...
Set the alarm...and while u're trying to hit slumber land...just keep telling urself that u ought to wake up at the set time....it works with me.....always!!! cheers

Nyquil ftw ! As far as getting up I dunno but nyquil rocks

I can't help you with the wakin gup opart, because I don't ever do that at any certain time. The getting to sleep part I am good at.
Pour a glass of wine, drink it in the tub with candlelight and bubbles.
When you get out, use the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Sleep line-I am amazed at how well this works-I have the pillow mist, the blanket, the pillow and I will be going back for the rest of the collection because it actually does make you snooze like a lamb...it's sooo good:)

take some benadryl or something to make you go to sleep and if your tired when you wake up then make some coffee and drink it black it will wake you up and keep you awake

To get yourself to wake up- get someone to throw cold water over your face( actually, no, it might cause a cold)
Do not drink any caffeine before bed

LOL Yes i need the answer to this too.
Look by tea that helps you sleep, but ones you have that u dont hear your alarm ring in the moring ( happend to me today ) so watch out, get your alarm set, and in the moring im supposes to get up at 6:30 but usualy keep on adding 5 minutes and comes up to like 7:30.
BEst thing is think of possitive stuff. Do not think of stuff you must do( will make you lazy ) think of like,,, Ummmmmmm i have cereals for breakfast. and take a shower

Since you don't have time to go to a doctor for some good prescription sleeping pills, you'll have to try to relax yourself.

Couple of things that work for me sometimes:

Concentrate on relaxing your body, one part at a time. Start with your toes, feet, ankles, calves, knees, thighs, etc, all the way to your head. Feel each part relaxing.

My friend's mom said she used to visualize a brown paper sack, the most boring thing she could think of. Concentrate on that and nothing else. Don't let any other thought enter your mind.

Count to 10 over and over. Again, don't think about anything else, just bore yourself to sleep.

To make myself get up, I just make myself move, like a robot. Don't lie there and think about it, just get up and make yourself shower, get dressed, whatever. It's the same way I make myself do a boring chore, like dishes or something.

Good luck!

Tomorrow make an appointment to get that prescription!

exercise is the only anecdote to sleep deprivation that i have found works.

Ok this works for me. Count back from the time you need to get up, count back 9 hours , or 6 hours, or in an emergency 4 hours. That is when you should go to bed to sleep. For example get up at 7am, go to bed at 10pm, or 1am.

Turn the tv OFF if it is your bedroom, having that on standby or sometimes your phone nearby can keep you restless.
If you have some fresh rosemary just crush a little and sniff before you go to bed - only needs a tiny bit.

Recommend you get some fennel tea to balance your energy levels.

just make the choice man. everyone can tell you all these weird different ways, but, your body has it's own clock. listen to your body. when you can do that, then you'll be able to decide when you need to be asleep, and need to be awake.

as far as getting to sleep tonight, just try to avoid your normal routines of watching tv, going on the internet, or whatever you do. move them ahead as many hours as you need for getting up earlier. like, if you're on the internet for 2hrs a night just before going to bed, say from 8-10pm, do like an hour from 7-8. if you have a favorite tv show you 'Have' to watch, record it. you prolly won't be watching it tonight if you have to be up early tomorrow. No caffine tonight will help a lot too. or huge amounts of sugar. if you know how long your sugar highs last, that might help you get to sleep :p but, it's prolly just best to avoid sugar and caffine if you need to be asleep early. as far as getting up, just think about what time you have to get up, and for what when you're going to sleep. then you'll prolly remmeber that when you wake up too. it's all boils down to will power baby. do you have enough?

Try taking Melatonin and Valerian supplements. You can find them at most health food stores and pharmacies.

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain that has a quick acting, sleep-inducing effect. The melatonin supplements are a synthetic version of the hormone.

Valerian Root comes from a plant native to Europe and Asia. It has been used for years to treat mild anxiety and insomnia.

I find that the combination of both supplements put me in a light enough sleep mode to get me into dreamland.

Other things that might help:
- Make sure your room is super dark and clutter free. A messy room can be distracting.
- Buy some aromatherapy. Scents like lavender, vanilla, & chamomille help create a soothing atmosphere. You can find it at Bath & Body Works or even Wal-Mart.
- Light some candles.
- When you close your eyes and prepare for sleep, try to think about a dream you recently had. Somehow it always works for me. I guess it puts my mind in dream mode.
- Try an over the counter sleep aid like Unisom.
- If all else fails, make an appointment with your doctor so you can get a prescription for a sleep aid like Ambien. I'm sure your doc will know what will suit you best.

As far as making yourself get up in the mornings, try putting your alarm clock as far away from your bed as possible. That way, when it goes off in the morning, you have to actually get up and hit the snooze button. By the time you hit the snooze several times you will be awake enough to get up and get moving.

Also, set the time on your clock to be about 11 or 12 minutes fast. While I am aware that my clock is fast, I'm usually too groggy to think about how much extra time I have and it makes me just want to get up and get moving.

Good luck! :-)
