Relax or Exercise?!

Question: The other day, I was talking to friends in Italy, and my friends here in the US...and we got to the topic of colds (just like the common cold)...haha don't ask how we got to that topic...
Anyways, while the Italians said that when you have a cold, you need to sleep and relax and not play sports while you're sick, the Americans said that exercise (i.e. running) is good for you when you have a cold...
...And now i have a cold (just a regular cold) and I don't know if i should skip track practice tomorrow and sleep/relax/take it easy like the Italians said, or if I should go to practice and exercise like the Americans said...

So who's right? Or is there a way in between? What should i do, in your opinion? I just want to do what will be healthier, because i have a track meet next thursday and i want to do well and not be sick :)

Thanks!!

I think you should always listen to your body. if you feel exhausted and not up to sports then you probably should relax and let your body get the rest it needs. If you feel fine and really think you can handle the sports give it a try but dont push yourself. At anytime you feel like your body is saying I cant do no more call it quits and go home.
Hope you feel better.

Go with the Italians every time!!
