you probebly used too much chemical on your scalp. I treated my hair twice within a week and my scalp was burning. Now I use mineral oil, and vinegar afterwards to comb nits out. As far as furnitures and car seat, there is a spray I buy, ask your pharmacist. It is for lice and bed bugs.

wash your pillows and bed stuff, lice can be everywhere.ALSO TAKE A SHOWER EVERYDAY!!

If you didn't pick off all the nits (eggs) from you hair, you could well be reinfested, as the treatments only kill the hatched lice, not the eggs.

Lice can indeed live on pillows and pillowcases, as well as sofas, hats and clothing. They could also still be in your combs and brushes.

# Brushes and combs can either be washed in one of the medicated shampoos or soaked in hot water (more than 128 degrees F) for 10 minutes. Water that is close to boiling is plenty hot enough.
# Pillow cases, sheets, hats, clothing worn in the past few days, coats and ornamental hair clips and ribbons can be machine washed in the hot cycle then dried on the hot cycle.
# Anything that cannot be washed can be tied up in a garbage back and placed in the closet for 10 days. This will kill any lice or eggs.
# Vacuum the bedroom, sofa, bed and pillows will get rid of any stray lice.

Most of the drugs use for lice infestation causes skin irritation.
Use0.5% carbaryl lotion for 7 days to combat your lice problem.
Yes lice can live such places for short period.
