What's up with my wrist? SIMPLE 2 POINTS!! Help, though?!

Question: Okay, so my wrist is starting to hurt. Well, only when i straighten it.
See, when i straighten it with one hand, my left han to be exact, it REALLY hurts like, between my thumb and pointer finger, but on the TOP of the hand.
And it only hurts when i straighten it.
Why is it like this?
Did i sprain it??
Also, i might have done in by tumbling because my tumbling coach makes me do like, 20 bridges, and i have weak wrists.
But i dont think its my wrists..
But i do have weak wrists. What is wrong with my hand?????
PLEASE HELP ME!
i dont wanna go to a doctor and tell him that something is wrong with me, because I have softball coming up soon, and MY CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS ARE IN APRIL! Also, we are playing volleyball in gym, and I am VERY good at it!!!! :)
What is wrong with my hand? And how do i strenghthen my wrists?
THANK YOU in advance!!

No one can really tell you what is wrong with your wrist and hand until they do an evaluation. You can go see a physical therapist and they can figure out what is wrong with your wrist and hand. At this point they will give you therapies, if that is what is required, and then they will start you on strengthening exercises for your wrist and hand. It does not sound like carpal tunnel to me, because there is not numbness in your fingers. A way that you can tell yourself is by putting your thumb and pinkie together (at the pad) then with the other hand pull the two apart, but try to resist. If it hurts, then there is a chance that you might have carpal tunnel. There is also another way you might be able to tell. Try putting the outsides of your wrists and the backs of your hands together, with your hands pointing to your feet. Hold that position for a minute. If you feel numbness, tingling and pain in your palms and fingers there is an even better chance that you have carpal tunnel syndrome. In the mean time use ice to ease the pain. To help strengthen your wrists just hold something (A weight or theraband) in your hand and with your hand in front of you just move your hand up and down. I hope some of this helps and I am sorry I can't tell you what is wrong. Good luck!

Start by typing shorter questions...

you should see your doctor or at least the trainer at the school. you'll only make it worse if you don't. a good way to strengthen your wrist is to squeeze something like a tennis ball over and over and over again. you start to notice a difference in no time.

you probably spranged it
ice it twice a day for 10 minutes
if it doesnt get better in a week go see a dr.

K how should we no if you sprained it but you probably did if your like me cause i only have one hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Get cold to hot muscle cream and try that to relax your hand
2. Put it under cold water
3. Rest your arm
4. If pain keeps comming call a doctor/clinic

carpal tunnel syndrome....repeative motion injury. must go to the doctor.

Simple?? That does not sound simple!

But go to the doctor and get it checked! You might have a fractured bone.

yeah 1st dont type so much i bet that strains it

ask your mom or dad if you dont wanna ask ur doc
and wait a night, see if it gets better the next morning

it might just take time, a lot of things do

btw, april is like 2 months away

im guessing you sprained it

i kno it happened to me when i was running backwards it hurts for a few days then its gone

Very simply you sprained it, so until you spend the extra bucks going to the doctor use a wrist hand splint when you are not exercising. It is inflammed most likely so you need to ice it after your tumbling and any other activities, the rule is ice 20 minutes and then 20 minutes off you will need to do this each and every time without fail do it for about two hours. After put the splint on and leave it on. Take motrin for inflammation and swelling and also the pain. Your coach should really make sure that you are doing exercises to strenghten your wrist, the coach also needs to allow resting time between the different things. If you do not take care of this the next time you do a hand spring you will fracture the hand. Your body is telling you it is stressed and needs repair and rest. Also most important, if you continue after the advice I have given you to suffer with pain you will need to go to the doctor. Good luck.

Obvious that you have athlete wrist, you need to ease your muscles around your palm and wrist.
Soak your two hands and up to half way to the elbow into cold for 2 mins and then to warm hot water 2 mins back and forth for ten times, dry them and apply lotion to them with gentle massage, wear socks with your hands to keep them warm.
Do this every 4 hours for current intense care for 2 days.
Also, do this every time before your game and after your game.
You have been wearing out the muscles without giving them maintenance. Every athlete should do cares to the muscle groups they use before and after intensive games.

If this doesn't slowing ease your pain, please do go to a doctor.

Wishing you feel better!
