Is it bad to take expired Aleve?!

Question: What will happen to me if I do?

Answers: What will happen to me if I do?

No, not usually. Legally, the drug companies have to put a date on it, but how does the medication in the bottle know when that date is up? :) As long as it has been in a cool, dry place (not the bathroom cabinet-too much steam and humidity) it is OK, and if it is just barely expired, I would still take it anyway. I take expired meds all the time, and I am fine (well, relatively, anyway!) ;)

nothing on the countrary the older the better so go ahead have fun

In all honesty, it's extremely unlikely that taking expired aleve will do you any harm. The only concern I would have taking expired aleve would be it not working.

No. But your Aleve may have lost a percentage of it's effectiveness. If it's old enough those properties break down.

Depends on how expired it is...probably won't harm you in any way but if it's been expired a long time (over a year or so) it probably isn't going to help you with pain relief.

Nothing...if it's really old it may have lost some of is potency...so you might have to use another one.

In general, if a pill hasn't changed color, is not crumbly or have a change in texture, and doesn't smell funny...it's okay to use.
Exception: Antibiotics should not be kept for more than 6 mos.

If it's expired it means it probably lost it's efficacy. The other thing that could happened is that your liver is metabolizing it and making your liver work. It can be toxic to your liver but if you don't take that many it's probably o.k nothing will happened to you.

nothing pills just wont be as effective
