How can you strengthen your rotator cuff?!

Question: I injured my rotator cuff in a hockey game, the doctor did nothing for me, not even rehab. I rehabbed it on my own, laying on my side and then taking light weights and working my way up with heavier weights. What I did was to rotate my arm all through the range of motion and working through the painful parts with the weights. If you do not lift weight with the dormant injured muscles, there is a danger that they will atrophy on you and you will permanently lose the range of motion. I would lift as soon as you can stand it, depending on how long ago you injured it....

I would check with a doctor or read up on webmd, they may have some exercises you can do. Most of those I know with rotator cuff problems ended up needing surgery. If you are in pain, I know of a product that may help.
