It sounds like you have hyper-extended your knee.

I've had to deal with this kind of stuff since I was a kid chasing the cows into the barn. I bet it felt like your bone slid across the other. Not to mention the indescribable pain! I used to see stars.

If it pulled itself back into place, you need to stay off it, get a pair of crutches, apply ice packs and take lots of Advil. (If it's still dislocated, you need to go to the ER to have it put back in place.) It will hurt for a while, but the pain will decrease every day, unless you don't give it a chance to rest.

The bad news is you're going to have to wear a knee brace if you continue the physical sports. It sucks, but a brace will help keep everything in line, so you won't have to endure this on a regular basis.

The next time you see your Dr., tell him about this and see if he can suggest a quality brace for you.

In the meantime, rest and keep your knee iced.

get to the ER.

go to the hospital. i herd it hurts ALOT so have a doctor do it

You need to get to the emergency room immediately. This isn't something that you can fix using a home remedy or anything. Have the doctor fit you for a knee brace and wear this with crutches until you're completely healed. You'll have to sacrifice your sports for a while, but lots of times you can get injured playing football, volleyball, softball, baseball soccer, hockey, and basketball.
