Do not worry. If you are going into hospital ask someone to ask the doctor to put analgesic IV cream on it. They put it on 5 hours before hand and cover it with a special plaster. When you have the IV inserted you wont feel a thing. All this can be checked out beforehand. Tell the adult who cares for you to
Insist on having it as it is normal now to use on children or a young adult. Sometimes they do it in outpatients and you can go home wih the plaster on and return later.
Don't think about it too much, distract yourself
Ask the nurse to check it to make sure it did not slip out of the vein. If it is in correctly ask them for a warm compress to put on your arm. IV's can be uncomfortable, but they should not actually hurt.
I hope you are well enough to go home soon!
