No matter what item you choose you need to be able to make a true committment to quit successfully. I quit some years ago during a divorce thinking if I can quit now I will never smoke again. I had tried a few times but not successfully and realized I had not made a full committment to do so. Once I made that decision I was successful. In more recent years I witnessed my husband trying to quit very unsuccessfully using the patch, and using it again and again. Finally his blood pressure was a major issue and he began working his way to quitting and set a target date but was able to quit before the target date and was not using the patch. As an aftersite he finally discovered what my phrasing "true committment" really meant. It is not to say it is easy but it is easier if you have made the true committment to stop. I wish you and anyone else luck in quitting and the strength to make a committment that will truely change your life, your health and affect your loved ones.

good decision!

i quit using everything available!!

first off for me patches were vital! you wear them all day everyday not just when you want a smoke,

if with the patches on you still fancy a cig have a piece of gum or use an inhalator which are so useful if you have a big thing for holding a cigarette,

you will find a mix of products that will work best for you

good luck you can do it!

I quit smoking 4 years ago and I did it with alot of prayer and also, I took my smoking hand, (my right hand), and licked my thumb, forefinger and middle finger and rubbed them in the bottom of an ashtray and let the ashes dry there. Every time I went to light a smoke, the cigarette(s) not only smelled like the ashtrays bottom, it tasted like it also, you taste what you smell and the smell of an ashtray is like that of one of those much used sani-huts, - TERRIBLE !!! The gum and the patch don't - repeat, - DON'T work, either quit or don't, (but that depends on the person). The first three,(3), days are the worst and the hardest,Try what I tried, and you will hate the smell of cigarettes afterwards, I do and I started smoking when smokes were only .47 cents a pack! WAY back when, in the mid-early 1970's, - (1974). Shoot me an email and let me know how you're doing and I will talk you out having a smoke, when you think you need/want one. Peace and the best of luck to you and the BEST decision you've made in a long time.

The patches worked for me, but I needed them for 6 weeks rather than the regular 4 weeks. You put them on and leave them on for 24 hours. They really keep you from jonesing real bad for a cigarette. Patches and prayer-worked for me.

I quit smoking using several different ways. I tried cold turkey, also was on the patches 3 different times along with a support group which I learned a lot from.. And made a lot of new friends ! On October 24,2007 I started taking Chant-ix, yes it's expensive but very worth it ! Read everything you can find about quitting smoking.Knowledge is Power ! you can go to sites like why Quit.com or American Lung Association has a wonderful on-line quit program, it has a lot of exercises that you do . It really is very helpful ! Good Luck to you, Janie
