How often do people lose a limb due to infection.?!

.. i had a friend who crushed his leg in a motorbike accident ... he had a metal rod put in it .. and due to some infection, they had to amputate it .. but i dunno how often it happens .. pray for your friend ..

Usually cause for an amputation for what you describe is because the body could be rejecting the rod, afterall you are putting a foreign object in the human body. People lose limbs to other things besides infections. The can lose them to crush injuries (it's how I lost my left arm below the elbow), cirulatory problems (i.e. diabetes), etc.
