If you're not already using a mitt, then get one!
But if you are, you may be having some kind of medical problem in your hand/wrist/arm (wherever the sting is). If it really bothers you, you should probably ask a doctor about it to rule out stress fracture and other injuries.
Ice, but still go to the doctor. if you have to wrap your hand into a wrist band.
