Second wind at 10-11 PM? Does this happen to anyone else?!

Question: It doesn't matter how tired I am, if I read or if I am even already alseep. I seem to wake up or become very hyper around 10-11 PM every night. And then I am up for at least another hour trying to get back to sleep. It doesn't matter if I run 20 miles and I am dead tired- I still wake up. Does anyone else have this problems? I don't know what to do.... but I am soo tired in the next day... all day but by 10PM, I'll perk right back up again. What should I do? I don't want to take pills. And I don't drink or eat caffine before bed or even at dinner.

Night wondering, is ussually due to stress. If your mind is busy thinking about money, school, family etc. your mind is activly engaged in trying to resolve those issues. If you are a busy person and do not have time to deal with everything, you mind will use your rest hours to keep on working.

Yoga helps, along with not drinking too much alcohol. yes, your head it, a couple of glasses of wine will not put you right to sleep, but rather, will wake you up in the middle of the night.

Cannomille tea, soothing music can help. Also, there is a product for babies that my friend swears it helps her sleep better. It's made by Johnson and Johnson and you can find it in the baby section, it's a lotion that has some herbs that will help you rest.

Good luck

Kinda happens to me. We ran three miles for charity at our school and after all of that I wake up at random times and just can't fall back to sleep.

I have that same problem. Me, I wake up every night around 3 am, for about 30 minutes, then 6 am for about an hour. Since I don't have to get up until 7:30, this is pretty annoying. Last week, I kept waking up. It was so bad I had to call in sick because I was too exhausted. Sorry I don't have any advice except to drink some chamomile tea before bed.

Yes and i take tylenol pm every night to help me fall asleep, and i still am hyper at 10-12am.. last night i got up and dusted my furniture, straigthened up and played ont he computer for a little while till i got re tired then drifted off to bed... this happens to me alot and i can do anything about it and it bothers me cause i am not getting the right amount of sleep and sometimes i over sleep and then it is rush around the house with the boys to get them off to school...

you just need to find a way to unwind at the end of the night do some gentle yoga stretches and make yourself a cup of herbal tea!
