LOL, I was just telling someone how much sneezing hurt today! I had mine out a few weeks ago too, and I'm almost painless... only really bothers me when I eat something I shouldn't ; ] like orange juice or something acidic like that. You shouldn't be too much longer! Gross, but did you throw up? If not, you are lucky. My pain meds made me sick and let me tell you, worst pain ever imaginable! =]

Well, I guess everyone's different.
I really didn't have any pain after the first day, just a little bit of a sore throat.
I never sneezed either, but I did have some coughing, and yeah...that was real painful for about a month.

Take some tylenol during the day, and maybe for a little while you should try gargling some warm salt water to help speed the healing away. I remember my doctor reccomended this to me. He also gave me som vicodin, but I never took it, just tylenol or ibuprophen.

Good luck, and feel better!

Eating, sneezing, drinking, taking pain killers hurt. You are almost past the worst of it at 2 weeks.

Be thankfull you didn't have a rupture of your "scab" as they called it to me and my son. We both ended up in the hospital about 2 weeks after surgery. I got the "liquid fire on a stick" as I like to call it,(calcium nitrate I think it was); my son had another surgery to stop the bleeding that the surgen call "a bleeding fire hose".

But I forgot to add: I hope you feel better soon. At least you have the computer! I had nothing but a tv and a kids walkie-talkie button to press when I needed help.

I haven't had a tonsillectomy done but my one aunt did several years ago and she said it took about 3 or 4 weeks to recover from the surgery. She didn't mention anything about having a problem with sneezing although her throat was sore for some time.

If it's ok with your doctor you can try drinking really cold water as a way to help with keeping the pain to a minimum. The cold will act like an anesthetic for the pain too.

yeahh all of my pain was compleatly gone by two weeks and i was really sick in the second with with a really bad gastro bugs were i was vomiting every half hour. so i even had all of that strain on it and it still did not hurt by the two weeks.
for pain i used a ice pack on my neck and i also used panadinee:) good stuff.
i really hope that you feel better and after i got mine out i felt like a different person as mine had been poisinging my system. i was sooo sooo much more energetic so hopefully this will be the same for you. now hopefully all pain will be gone super soon but i have heard of cases that the pain has gone on for a month to six weeks but really i dont that that is veryy common at all. just in a few dayss it shouldall be gone AND YESS
