Sit down and extend your leg so that the knee is straight, now point your foot upwards, what I mean is imagine you are trying to point to your knee with your toes. You should be able to feel your calf muscle stretching. Stretch like this to the point where it feels as though you're stretching the muscle, but don't push so hard that it hurts.

you want to hold this position for around 30 seconds for each leg. once is usually enough but it doesn't hurt to repeat it if you can be bothered.

also a decent sleep is neccesarry for you muscles to repair after a workout.

A week is a long time for your muscles to be hurting for no particular reason, or was it caused by intense exercise? Your legs will get used to the activity fairly quickly if you keep it up, If your muscles are hurting for no apparent reason I'd suggest seeing a doctor about it

What I do is not really, a exercise or stretching...
I do self-hypnosis... Sounds silly but it works for the whole body.
Its very simple...
Lay on a bed, take 3 or 4 deep breaths very slowly, breathing in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Now concentrate on your feet relaxing them and feeling all the tension releasing and leaving your feet Now move up to your calf's feel the soreness and concentrate of relaxing your calf's seeing your soreness releasing out in the room...
You keep moving up your whole body releasing all the tension you have even to the top of your head.
After you will be in a semi hypnotic state. Enjoy it just let your mind wander. Don't think about anything, after 15 to 30 minutes. Start the 3 deep breaths and count to 5 backward feeling yourself coming back and on the count of one your eyes open and say 3 times "eyes open wide awake".
When your saying do it out loud. After you will be totally relaxed and and muscle aches will be gone...
I practices this, just to release any stress from my day...
