Stay Home Because of Groin Strain?!

Question: Hey, 2 days ago I strained my Groin playing soccer.
I looked up on the internet and found out I have a grade 3 groin strain!
I feel pain when I walk and have to limp very slowly.
When I go up and down stairs I get a sharp pain going through my theigh and struggle to get up/down.

I can't get a Phisio appointment for another 3 days so I need to know whether going to school will make my injury worse or do nothing allowing me to spend a normal day at school.

I'm 14 years old and i'm a guy.

???

You should stay home and stay put. You do not want to make it worse. I was doing my Martial Arts and I pulled the groin muscle and I am a girl so I was lucky, but still it hurt like hell. Now with a guy it is even worse. You need to ice it like crazy and wait for your appointment. make sure you didn't tear anything in there and no other injuries. Clean up well they will want to take a looky loo.

Depending on your pain tolerance it could very well be a level 3, but most of the time when it is that severe you are unable to get up out of bed or even move without severe pain. Regardless it needs to be looked at because you never know.

you need to ask your parents about this and a doctor
guess it depends on how bad it is

tell your parents,go to the dr. and dont go to school untill you feel a little bit better, or depending on how many days the dr gives you an excuse for

Sorry, but I seriously doubt it is a grade 3..which is a complete tear of the muscle and usually requires surgical intervention to reattach the torn edges. I'm not downplaying your injury, a Grade 2 is still a serious, painful, PAINFUL injury, particularly in the groin.

I don't know if going to school will make it worse, but it sure ain't gonna help it. Take it easy...Rest it, ice it, take some ibuprofen and listen to your therapist. Groin strains can become chronic if you don't let them heal properly. Take your time coming back.
