and why?

well it's definately not good to pop, or crack your joints.

but the real debate is, just how bad is it really?

There is suggestions that cracking knuckles can lead to early and more severe athritis later in life, however there is no proven link to this.

However it is proven that when comparing two people; one that cracks their knuckles and one that doesn't, the one that cracks their knuckles generally has a considerably weaker grip strength.

bad it can give u artritis. hey plzzz answer my newest questiion

You should look up something to do with chiropractic. It isn't bad.

The whole "cracking your knuckles gives you arthritis" is bull.

People have said it gives you arthiritis, but it has been clinically proven that it wont give you arthritis. I crack mine all the time and I am just fine.

It doesn't matter. It does NOT cause arthritis. It just releases gas in the space between the joints.

I heard in a health segment in the news. That it can lead to your fingers getting deformed. I was a habitual knuckle popper. I started to notice my fingers getting deformed, long before I heard the story in the news. Some going one way, twisting to a certain angle. I stopped over 10 yrs ago. My fingers are not straight. I don't know if not popping them at all would have avoided this, but I think it might have.

I did a quick search on this topic here is what I found.

"A single event is not enough to cause damage to the joint, although there is a hypothesis that prolonged joint stress due to cracking knuckles may eventually lead to a higher risk of joint damage. However, the long-term consequences of this practice have not been studied thoroughly, and the scientific evidence is inconclusive. The common parental advice "cracking your knuckles gives you arthritis" is not supported by any evidence, but habitual knuckle crackers are more likely to have hand swelling and lower grip strength."

I think that it is not good. I was told that it would make your Knuckles Big and can cause Arthritis in your joints later in life.
