Why am i getting foot cramps so often?!

Question: I constantly am getting them. Typically it is in my right foot.
Sometimes in my left.
The severity ranges from easy to stretch out to taking 5 minutes for me to stretch it out. And i have gotten to be an expert at stretching them out -ha ha- so that is not my problem. Also the pain ranges too from dull to really sharp. Sometimes after i stretch it out, it comes right back, other times it stays gone for a couple of hours to a day or so. But i even get toe cramps too and i didnt use to.
I use to get them randomly when i was on swim team as a kid. i am not on swim team anymore, but i get them just walking around, laying in bed, ... pretty much anywhere.
i am 18 now.
i just want to know what to do to make them stop for good.

thanks for your help

Take potassium - eat banana's. Drink lots of fluids.

Potassium wouldn't hurt any, but chances are it's not a lack of that, it's a lack of calcium.
Try taking vitamins. A good multivitamin will actually help a lot with that, and keep you from getting as sick when you do, and keep you from getting sick at all sometimes.
I take lots of vitamins and I frequently enjoy perfect health while everyone around me is in agonizing pain.

That's slowly changing as my friends realize WHY that always happens.
