ICU,your mom is in critical condition right now, so they are trying to observe the condition of your mom. She will be alright after they find out what causes the seizures. It is normal to put the patient in ICU, so they will know how to treat that person. Just give them time to find out. I hope she will be fine in no time, just pray for her that she will recover soon.

The purpose of ICU is to watch a patient more closely. A lot of people that has been in ICU go home.
I hope your mom gets well soon.

ICU means "Intensive Care Unit" -- it's for critically ill patients who need round-the-clock monitoring.

My dad was on ICU after his heart surgery; it just to keep a close eye on the patient after a couple days of him being there he was transfer to a regular room. It just means that your mom needs to be watch more carefully & this way she has an assign nurse to her which will keep a close eye on her. I hope your mom gets better soon.

I am sure your mother is aware of her surroundings so I am sure that she sensed your step-father's presence as well as your presence. My best advice to you is to not worry and to think positively. Stop thinking about the what ifs and focus on expecting your mother to leave the hospital well. Good Luck :)
