Car accident?!
Question: My son and I were in a car accident on Feb. 11...my car was totaled. After two weeks we started physical therapy because our bodies were stiff and completely just hurting....I just stopped taking lortabs and muscle relaxers about a week ago...the therapists I'm seeing now says I'll probably be in therapy about three weeks to a month. I have a little scar on my forehead that came from the rear view mirror hitting my head after the other person hit us, well and after my car hopped a curb and landed in someone's yard. My question...if after about a month and a half of therapy...how much am I looking at receiving from my settlement...and I know not to just go with the first thing the insurance company offer me...I'm just looking for a good number that should be fair enough for me and my son

The big problem with a car accident like this is you are likely going to have trouble getting a doctor to say you are INJURED. Unfortunately, you probably got a lot of painful pulled muscles...stuff that won't show up on exrays.
I had an accident similar to this where i pulled all of the tendons in my forarms to my back because I saw the accident coming. I was in so much pain I couldn't even still a cup of coffee!! The doctor's said i wasn't injured though.
Hopefully you do better than I did. After about a month and a half I was almost as good as new.
Listen to the first offer......and then discuss it with a few people....I had the misfortune of a moron without insurance fly through a red light and SLAM into my driver's side door.
I know what you are going through... This has happened to me. I still have a little fear of getting into cars (it's been six months later) I am sorry what happened, feel better.

Sorry but insurance companies don't consider pain & suffering in their settlements only visible injuries and the cost of your car. You will get compensated for your medical costs up to a certain limit.
My best friend was in an accident almost 2 years ago and is still dealing with it. She just this week found out that she has serious damage to her neck from it. DO NOT SETTLE just to get some cash in your pocket. Find out how injured you are and how long it could last. Wait it out til you know for sure whats going on with your injury it will be well worth it.
