Lower Right Abdominal Pain, 5 or 6 on the 1-10 pain scale...?!

Question: I have had a pain in my lower right abdomen for over 24 hours. I was worried that it was appendicitis since it moved from all over my abdomen (as it is when you have gas) to my lower right side and stayed there. However, after doing some Googling, I don't fit most of the common symptoms for appendicitis. I haven't felt nauseaus or thrown up, and it doesn't hurt when gentle pressure is applied, but I did lose my appetite the night I got it...however, when I woke up the next morning, I didn't want to eat, but then after about a half hour I felt like eating anything in sight. It's still here and it's giving me a bit of trouble walking, but not as much as yesterday...any help would be welcomed. I've tried a few Gas-X tablets, but that really doesn't do much. And also, the pain occasionally moves, it goes from the right to all over for a few minutes, then returns to the right side...

Thanks!

(by the way, I'm a guy, so don't tell me about a woman's problem)

You must have some women's blood in ya ;-)

Actually it sounds like gas...which moves and can get trapped. Try having some rough-ages, lettuce celery etc...

If it doesn't vacate and the pain remains, see a doctor.

It would be a good idea to have it checked out. Appendicitis does not always follow the classic pattern. One of the tools for diagnosing it is a CBC. You need to see a doctor for that. No one can really diagnose you without an examination.

I am a RN and have seen a lot of appendectomies that did not follow the classic pattern. Again I do not know what your problem is, but it would be a good idea to have it checked out.

Abdominal pain is tricky, that is why Er's and paramedics do not give pain medication. Abdominal pain on one side could be a problem some where else. the pain isn't always where the problem is. As far as apendicittis, if you push inand it hurts when it rebounds, it is probably an apendicittis.
