Needles tend to hurt.. the belly button is usually quick but I've found that everyone I know with a belly button piercing it takes a while to heal and can be sore off and on for a couple months while it is healing.

As for the tattoo.. the hip isn't as bad as some other places, depending on how big the tattoo is, you get used to it after a few minutes and it starts to go numb.. it's not THAT bad.. but obviously if you have a big fear of needles and a low pain tolerance it'll be worse for you.

Sure they do

Yeah but you get over it.

Tattoos and piercings hurt a little bit less than being stabbed, all involve piercing the skin.

tattoss only hurt for a while but it is a needle going in and out of your skin really do you think that would hurt?

what really hurst is nose piercings!
owwww

It depends on your pain threshold. But I will say think long and hard before you have these done to make sure it is what you really want.

Well, it's not a walk in the park...
Depends on your tolerance for pain, really.

That depends on your level of pain tolerance.

I had my belly button done when I was 15 and I barely felt it.

I had my tattoo done along my spine when I was 19 and that hurt like heck, but I was able to make it through without stopping.

yes they do but only for a little while.

Belly button no, not til afterwards. I have a tattoo on my hip and it didnt hurt at all. I was really scared but seriously it felt like someone scratching me. It was more annoying then anything.

Yes, it hurts like hell!! Don't do it. When you grow up and you're bored with sticking things into/onto your body, the holes will remain forever and the tatoo will never come off without laser treatment, more pain and permanent scarring.

Are you doing because your stupid friends are doing it or because, for some reason, you REALLY want it?

cant really help u on the belly button part, but the tat i can.
it sting or burns...and especially on the hip since its so tender...but, after about a minute or 30 seconds it kinda gets numb. i got my whole left leg from my knee to my ankle done and it stung but u just gotta stick threw. lol good luck, tattoos r cool and worth it

I got my belly pierced a year ago, it hurted a lil when the lady was piercing it.. i thought it would be painful but a week later it was just fine... Good luck !! if you wish to do it, then i think you should .. =]

Tattoo on the hip will hurt but not that bad, because dont forget there you bones on the hip.. but you should be alrght..

Good luck!!

Yes it hurts. I would not get your belly pierced. Thats out...

I depends on the tooth to tattoo ratio of your chosen body modification artist.

i got my bellybutton peirced when i was 16 i have had 3 other peircings also, my bellybutton hurt the most, it only stings/burns for about 15 seconds, the worst part was when the needle went through it made like a popping sound. i had no healing problems and it was by far my favorite peircing.

I also have a tattoo on my lower back. That was very painful, i think because there is not much skin or fat in that area. The more skin and fat there is the less it will hurt. But again, it wasnt a painful hurt it was more of an annoying hurt.
I think you should deffinitly get your bellybutton peirced, it looks good and its pretty cool. Healing time is like 1 month, but as for a tattoo, just make sure that you really want it because it's there forever. I would recomend getting a henna tattoo first, just to be sure that you like it.

Good luck, hope i helped

Yes, I have both, and they both hurt. My belly button took 9 months to totally heal even though I am an extremely clean person and took very good care of it. The tatoo felt like a steak knife carving into my back while they did it. It never hurt afterward though.

The belly button piercing hurts, but only for a moment. The tattoo definitely hurts, but the hip isn't too bad. Take some Tylenol or Ibuprofin before you go. After a little while, your endorphins (your body's natural painkillers) kick in and it doesn't hurt as much. Just be sure it is what you want - it hurts a LOT more to get them removed!

yes and YES!
I have a tat on my hip & yes that one hurt worse than the others.
