Biotin for weak, slow growing nails?!

Question: I just had artificial nails removed. My nails are now not growing at all and it's been at least 3 weeks since I had the artificial nails removed. Before, my nails grew like weeds. I read somewhere that if you take Biotin, it helps your nails grow. Is that true, and if so, where do I find Biotin?

Biotin is said to be helpful for hair and nails. Most stores that sell vitamins and supplements will carry biotin or a "hair and nails" product that contains biotin.

You can also get gelatin (like the kind you cook with/jello) I think they even sell it as a nail grower. You'd have to ask where it is in the grocery store, though it most likely would be in the cooking aisle or with the jello.
