Your accident was, no doubt, covered by worker's compensation. If it results in a permanent disability for which your company does not provide insurance, AND if you can prove that the accident was due to negligence on the part of the company (rather than your own failure to follow your training and the company's guidelines), then you may be entitled to extra compensation. However, if you are not permanently disabled by the accident (and the loss of a fingertip rarely counts as a permanent disability), then the company is covered by the worker's compensation laws that shield them from further lawsuits.

In any case, you should contact a lawyer to find out your full rights.

Definitely! You deserve 100% compensation

why would you need compensation of they are paying for your medical bills, i supose if you are not at work, and they are not paying you, you should sue but yeah they will probably only give you how much you would usually be paid

If the medical bills are being paid, why would you want to sue? Who did your friend want you to sue? The doctor? or your company? I would go back to work and forget it. Your friend is telling you to get some easy money, maybe. I would look for a new friend.
