Plantar Faciitis...Foot Pain?!

Question: The podiatrist told me that I have plantar faciitis in my left foot.

She also went on to say that people normally get 3 shots in the foot in a period of one year but that the shot itself will not remove plantar faciitis.

What are some foot excercises that can help in terms of doing away with plantar faciitis?

NOTE: I am not talking about warts.

I have plantar faciitis in my foot also and an arch problem. I have cortisone shots and they have helped. I started having to work 60 hour weeks on concrete floors and it really is bothering me. I have had 1 shot and supposed to get another soon. My dr scheduled mine shots 1 month apart. In the past the shots did wonders. You will probably never do away with it. There are stretches you can do as soon as you get out of bed. The stretches involve stretching the muscles in the back of the leg. Your dr can give you exercises to do to help with this or you can find them on the web. If your foot aches like mine does then I have sympathy for you. Somedays it is hard for me to even put any pressure on it. Good luck

The best treatment possible for plantar fasciitis is good arch support. Wear well fitting shoes with extra arch support.
Give good rest whenever possible.
It will take long time for the fasciitis to resolve with or without treatment.

The chiropractor helped me greatly with mine, I then proceeded to get orthodics and they have been a great help as well, oh and the other thing good shoes, really good shoes, I tend to buy leather runners. As for exercises I don't know of any hope some one else out there can help you out with that part. Good luck!!!

I had it, the shots didn't help & they are very painful. I got some arch supports but then I got a pair of Birkenstock shoe's with a built in arch & a shallow heel "well", I have never had it the problem since.
