I have really REALLY bad cramps sometimes. what is wrong with me? (not period cr!

Question: So this has been going on for many years. It doesn't happen all the time, I'd say once in a while. I thought it had something to do with my period but I guess not because it happens when i am not due or in PMS. I get really bad stomach pains so bad that it feels like i am dying. They last for like a few seconds then go away and come back. It goes on until i feel like i have to you know, "poo" LOL sorry to be graphic. anyway once i "poo" it goes away. The pain was so bad last night it woke me out of my sleep! so what is wrong with me and should i be concerned? I want to avoid going to a doctor if i can because i have no insurance. I'd go if this was happening every single day and night ya know but it is something that happens once in a while. but i noticed it a little last week and again last night. So i am noticing it more. what could be wrong?

I have the same problem. I think you might have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Best thing to do is try not to get ya know "backed up" too much. No reason to see a doctor unless it gets worse than it has been. If you lived through it all this time I think you have nothing to worry about.

you know its not normal!! and youve had it for years? your probably hurting yourself more by leaving unchecked. just fork up the $$ and go to the doc.

What you probably have is IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome. From your description that is what it sounds like. Try doing some research on the Internet. I listed one source of information for you.
Good luck and if you can't find some relief from your research then you must see a doctor. Good luck!

You may have ovarian cysts that act up when you need to go to the bathroom. I have them, and if I'm constipated or need to go, I can get really awful cramps that are relieved once I go. It does hurt alot, and can be really scary if you don't know what's going on. In my case, my gynecologist keeps an eye on things, and I do my part in trying to stay regular, eat lots of fiber and drink plenty of water, and make sure I get regular checkups. There must be some free/low cost clinics where you live--check your county's health department and get your butt in there. You need to get checked out and see what's really going on with you. You could have irritable bowel, it could be gynecologic in nature, or it could be something totally different. Advice is great, but you need a doctor's care. Do yourself a favor, and beg, borrow or steal, but go to the doctor. You'll be glad you did, and I bet the relief you gain by knowing what the problem really is will be nothing compared to the expense. Just think how much time you've spent worrying about what the cause might be, not to mention the pain! GO SEE YOUR DOC! Also, most county hospitals see people regardless of their ability to pay. Get thee hence to your ER!
