Try eating a banana 1 hour before you work out, the potassium will help reduce the cramping, aches in your calves and drink plenty of water and after your work out, try walking for about five minutes and put your legs under cold water, I do this after I've run and it is what Jeff Galloway suggests when you train for marathons...Try it, it will help

Stretching after working out!

Try soaking in a warm to hot bath with 2 cups of epsom salts. Helps me every time. Oh, and stretching after the work-out.

As Sal answered before ...a really good stretch BEFORE and AFTER the work out does it for me ...

There is always going to be some residual aching immediately after a tough work out .. But the stretching wiil stop the pain from carrying over into the next day

Ice.heat.Muscle relaxer? No pain no gain!
But i do hear epsom salt baths can help

From what I've heard and read the buildup of lactic acid is a myth. What's actually happening is hard exercise causes minute tears in the muscle tissue; that's what causes the pain. They don't know what causes it or a solution except rest. You can read this site:

I play Rugby this is a bit anti social but If you can get a bottle of Olbas Oil it is a good muscle rub.

If not Try A hot damp towel wrapped around the muscle it relieves it quickly hope that helps. Lactic Acid will break down quickly try drinking a sugary drink I promise that will help you

"warm down"

So after exercise just stretch, and walk around a bit, like you do before exercise!
