Switching from Lortab10/500 to Darvan N 100mg?????????!


Question: I was on lortab 10/500 for 2 years after 2 back surgeries with no relief and i'm only 29.My dr gave me new script instead of usual hydrocodone he gave me Darvon N 100mg.And this 3 weeks after he took me off duragesic patches 100mcg cold turkey.I know it's gotta be weaker that lortab but how much weaker?Am i gonna go thru withdrawals again?It was hell 1st week after patches.Is it time to change a dr?I would appreciate any comments,just please know what ur talking about dont be quessing.

Yes your gonna withdraw again. 100mg of Propoxyphene is very weak compared to a Lortab. I am assuming you were on Fentanyl patches? Apparently he must think you need to get off this stuff. Did he give you an explanation? However the Darvon is gonna prevent major withdrawal, will it completely stop it? I would say it takes 3 or 4 of those to equal 10mg's of hydro. No. I imagine your gonna feel fatique and joint pain but not nothing really terrible, but what about your real pain? Ask him and demand why he did this, he could have got you down to 7.5 hydros and than 5mg and than breaking the 5's in half to the propoxyhene. Sounds a little too quick for me. And a big jump. Personally if that was me, I would be pissed. See what happens and yes, maybe you need a new Dr.
