How can you ease the pain/burning of a UTI?!
Question: I went to the hospital today because of back pain I thought they mucked up my epidural last week. Turns out I have a progressed UTI. They gave me levoquin and pyridium. But they refused to give me even a tylenol 3. Now I am still in pain when I pee or leak blood it burns like hell. Does anyone know of a way to soothe the pain?

Give the pyridium more time to start working.

Ooopppss... sorry 'Mom'...seems like if it ain't the UTI, it's gonna be sumthin else for the next 100+ years....there's jest no way outta here widout pain!
Try a little aspirin, Exceedrin, with extra amounts of water!
Or, if ya really wanna 'tuffen up', try a few double shots of scotch! It might not ease the pain but you'll then have a good reason to quit complainin!

Pyridium is a urinary analgesic, you and your doctor are doing a good job, drink a lot of fluids so that urine is not concentrated and that probably will help, your doctor is correct in the advise and medications given usually Tylenol 3 does not help, pyridium is more specific, again drink a lots of fluids, cranberry juice, water etc,
take uristat it makes the burning and pain disappear while it goes thru the uninary tract, it will however turn ur urine browish colored. but it makes it much more comfortable. and lots of water. but if u have pyridium this is the same thing. how did an epidural cause a UTI? epidurals are in the spine and the catheters used for the unrinary tract are different. heat on the spots that are bothing u, and cool washcloths after u pee over the exit of the urethra.
