A very warm shower, or soak in a tub and then lean back on a hot water bottle, or apply a heat patch or thermal patch for the back. Strengthening the abdominal muscles will help lower back pain like nothing else can, simple walking with a concentration toward tucking in the tummy while walking is also a great help to strengthening those lower back muscles. But you hurt now, so for now, warmth and gentle stretching. Try lying down and pulling your knees up to your chest. Knee -chest exercises are a great way to gently stretch and pull lower back muscles, do this slowly, release and repeat 10 x or so, then apply heat. But remember, when feeling better, work on the abdomen and tummy, it will help immensely. Good luck!

stop taking Advil, go out and buy one of those heat pads for the back, i think its called Thermacare or something like that, they sell it at pharmacies.

every time i get a back ache i use that helps a lot :D

if u don't already, stretch before you workout and do some sit ups, having stronger abs means less chance of a back ache.
