Right side of my upper neck hurting, along the jaw line?!

Question: so I don't exactly know when it started happening, only a few hours, but all of a sudden, right under my jaw on the right side of my neck hurts REALLY bad, and it flares with pain every time i gulp, so it hurts to eat, drink and take a deep breath

i don't know if this picture will work, but here is a link

Could be any number of things...

swollen lymphnodes? TMJ (the pain can radiate down your jaw)? Abcessed tooth?

Sometimes people experience jaw pain days or minutes before a heart attack. That would be unusual judging by the fact that it only hurts when you move it.

Have you been chewing a lot of gum or eating "chewy" foods like steak? That can cause pain to radiate down our jaw if it's TMJ.

How old are ya ? curious because wisdom teeth might be comming in ........or u have a cavity or sore throat you can check webmd.com

lay off giving Knobbers for a while.

Yeah, your jaw doesn't look to good. Here are a couple of links that will help you.

The links are to good, free medical information from medical professionals. As you can see from some of your answers it's best to not trust just anyone with a computer and access to Yahoo for medical questions

Dude!! The random guy is ugly, couldn't you find someone better looking for a profile shot!! lol

maybe its sinus related, i get similiar pain right before i get a head cold

looks like wisdom teeth maybe it depends on how old you are. If not then it could be sore from sinus dangage. does your ear hurt may even be ear infection.

i have that a lot. its just probably ur neck position wen u sleep at night. i recommend a softer pillow or a straighter neck

you might have a swollen lymph node.

they are these things behind your ear that are supposed to help when your have an ear infection.

i had the same thing and thats what the doc.told me.

it went away through time...
and regular pain medicine...

good luck though.....i didnt eat for an entire week!
