It could be a number of things, most probably just a small infection, - remember, just because your other ear healed okay dosnt mean the other one will react the same, i had the same problem.
If i were you i'd do a few salt soaks (1/4 teaspoon of salt water dissolved in a cup full of warm water applied with a cotton pad or putting your ear in the cup & dry carefully afterwards), keep the area clean, please do not use alcohol based products to clean it, this can really damage and irritate your skin, and get checked out by a doctor asap, trust me, it's better to be safe than sorry, a doctor can perscribe some anti biotics that will probably sort out the problem sooner rather than later, i'm sure your ear will be fine.
Good luck:)

I swear by TCP!!! It works everytime!!! Dab it on every couple of hours, it will clear any infection up in no time.

You may have an allergy to the type of metal in the piercing, so if possible switch it to nonallergenic surgical stainless steel jewelry. Also, you may want to soak it in warm water with a pinch of sea salt (very little). Do this for about 5 minutes a day, it should clear up rather quickly. Also, make sure the jewelry isn't on too tight. If the jewelry is the same in both ears, do not remove the jewelry too early (until the infection has cleared at least), unless you still have reason to believe that you may have allergies (sometimes one ear will be more sensitive to an allergen that the other). Finally, do not touch it if you can help it. If you talk on the phone using that ear, make a concentrated effort to hold the phone to the other side of your head for a while, phones can carry a ton of germs, and try to make sure you rest the other side of your head on your pillow when you sleep.

Sounds like you may be having an allergic reaction to the stud. If the stud is nickel plated then it's more than likely causing all the issues you're having.

I think you should go to a doctor to prevent an infection from happening. You might allready have an infection so it is best that you head to your doctor and get a good antibiotic.

take out the earing and clean where infected with rubbing alcohol and the stuff stores give you when you get your ears pirced.

Consult a Physician. QUICKLY.
