Can thinking about a headache actually give you a headache?!
Question: I am 25 and fell on the ice about 3 weeks ago, the 1st week was fine, no pain but then as the 2nd week approached my neck started getting really sore. I didnt hit my head but I think i might have jolted my neck the wrong way or something...
I am starting to get really nervous about it all and am thinking maybe I am giving myself this headache. Yes, I am a hypocondriac and have been scared with all these posts of I've had a headache for 124 days straight now?!?!?!? I dont want that to happen to me, I wont be able to handle it.
I am on 6 tylenol/day and 3 naproxen ( as doctor's advice) the only time my headache went away during the past 2 weeks as for 3 days after a massage but then returned...damn
Any suggestions or has anyon else ever experienced this? Is my worrying contributing to the pain I am experiencing?

Since you fell on the ice, have you been checked for a concussion? That w/be the first sign of a headache. It could also be a muscle tension headache caused by the stress of falling or when you jolted your neck it too can cause headaches. Remember this: We can talk ourselves into everything. If you concentrate on having a headache, you can very well get one. Keep your thoughts positive and dont dwell on "what you have."
mind over matter :)
Depending on how yo ulanded it could be a few things. A pulled or torn ligament causeing a sharp pain when turning your head and placing additional stress on the deltoid and traoezium (shoulder and back muscles). Or a possible pinch nerve. However since it took over a week for the pain to accur versus within 24-36 hours later, its obviously not a cuncussion or a contussion. try to be more stress free, I would lead myself to believe it is a self stress induce migraine. Nothing medical, just "mind over matter" as the first answer suggest. yet I am no doctor, just a former bouncer who has had many headaches. lol
Some become ill as a form of copy-cat behavior, stress can do some serious damage to your body. Try to relax, take a long hot bath, read a book, take a deep breathe, yoga but relax.
