Question: and i just ended up by snapping a rubberband on the hand by accident, as i was trying to stop a bag of things from falling. now, the top of my hand and wrist hurt alot and is swollen. what shud i do? any suggestions plz??thanks. sorry, but im typing with 1 hand.

Ice and a anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen)is recommended per your diagnosis. I'm assuming that you have received a cortosone injection? Remember 20 min on (for the ice), and 20 min. off. Do this for no more than 1 hr. Ice causes the blood vessel to restrict, in turn this will assist in the reduction of pain.
"TC"s answer sounds correct. You could alternate the ice with warm moist compresses, too.
I'm assuming you were diagnosed by a doctor. what did the doctor tell you to do? When I had it my doctor recommended ice, anti-inflammatory meds, and a Spica splint.
