Bad to mix these?!

Question: Naproxen and advil??

Answers: Naproxen and advil??

Naproxen and advil are the same class of drug (NSAIDs) so you should not be mixing them. Both can give you stomach problems (like ulcers and bleeding) and are bad for your liver and kidneys in high doses.

Are you in so much pain that just one of these drugs isn't quite covering it? Because if you are you should probably talk to a doctor to try to get something stronger to control your pain. In the meantime try alternating these with another analgesic drug like tylenol, a naproxen every 6 hours with a tylenol in between times - still not ideal to be taking so many painkillers but will be fine in the short term if you are feeling miserable!

** saw your add'l info... it should be fine to switch to naproxen after taking advil if you space them by about 4 hours. if you have any stomach problems you could try taking some antacids like tums etc to help out. hope you feel better soon!!

it is bad to mix any type of drug. naproxen is stronger than advil,so yes this is a bad idea. you get both of these dosages in your system and it could eventually mess you up,because it will become an addiction belive it or not.

They're both rough on your stomach, so mixing them will increase your chance of them upsetting your stomach. Over time, they can cause more serious damage to your stomach. But mixing them one time won't hurt you if you have a tough stomach.
