I don't personally have any trouble sleeping (quite the opposite, really), but when my daughter did, we gave her melatonin.

It's available over the counter, in the vitamin section at your local drug store, and is one of the least addictive substances on the planet. It's a chemical that occurs naturally in the body, and should make you comfortably sleepy if you take some 30 minutes before bed time.

I would suggest the nightime Tylonol stuff, sorry I don't know how that is spelled. But if there is any way to stay away from sleeping pills, you should. I tried them for a while and I had an even harder time waking up. I would sleep in for hours and hours and completely miss my alarm clock! I wouldn't even hear it. It was horrible, bu then that is just my experience.

Maybe things will work better for you though. Good luck!

All sleeping pills are habit forming .If you can not sleep only when you are nervous it is quite natural (not insomnia) I would strongly advise you instead, to try the yoga relaxation exercises(and posture). Yoga is one of the best tranquilizers.
