Pain after attempted blood draw?!

Question: I had my blood drawn 2 days ago, and while the nurse was drawing my blood I was screaming in pain and no blood came out. So she gave up and I came home. Now every time I move my arm it has this shooting pain and this needling and tingling sensation that goes all the way down to my palm. I called my doctor and the nurses in her office just brushed me off. I am 15 weeks pregnant and really need my right arm. Any suggestions??

Try putting some moist heat on it. Here is a link that will help you

For moist heat you can try this

Fill a gym sock up with dry cooking rice
Tie off the end
Microwave on high for 60 seconds
Check to make sure it's not too hot
Place it in a plastic bag
Place a wet wash towel over the area
Apply to where you have the pain

Don't throw it away!! As long as the rice stays dry you can use it for months for all sorts of aches and pains.
Good luck

It sounds like the nurse was obviously having trouble finding your vein, but inserted the needle anyway. The pain you are describing sounds like nerve pain. She may have damaged some tissue and nerves while poking around in your arm with the needle. If you cannot get anywhere with the nurse, speak directly to the doctor about it.

go to the er NOW ////////your pegant so you can get in this isnt for us to answer

Call your doctor again. Do not allow anyone in the office to put you off. Insist that you speak directly with the doctor. It sounds to this nurse that you might have sustained some injury from the attempted blood draw.
