Sleep or No sleep?!

Question: I was up all night, all night the day before and most of the day yesterday.. I got like 5 hours of sleep yesterday and it was bad sleep (kept getting woke up every like 10 minutes) I am exusted but I had a lot of chores and errands to do today. They mostly involve cleaning. But I don't know if I should just stick out being so tired and do my chores or go to sleep and do them tomorrow. My eyes are killing me and I am starting to get red eyes. So sleep now it is 8:04am here or Stick it out and do my stuff and go to sleep at a regular time like 9pm? And with me there is no such thing as a simple nap, I have been sleeping for about 10-12 hours a time lately. But today if I went to sleep I would have to wake up at like 5pm anyways.

Hi Lisa:
Sometimes when we can't get enough "good" sleep, we push ourselves on and on, because of obligations. The trick is, to know your own body and how far you can push it before getting sick.
Sleep depredation can be an awful experience, especially when it is caused by other sources waking you up.
Bottom line....if you have the chance now, then take advantage of it. Sleep.
If you don't, you may hate yourself later on when things are again keeping you awake.
I wish you well.

Wow, I wonder why your sleep quality is so terrible, but that's for another question. If I were you I'd personally stay awake until 6-8 P.M. and then go to bed. I might take a little nap between now and then. Good luck.. your body needs sleep to rejuvenate itself.

You need to reset your internal, clock for one. Try to avoid napping. Also see your doctor. You may have something physically going on which is causing this or even depression and/or anxiety. Not getting enough sleep can lead to medical issues, your immune system will begin to rebel.

Fight the sleep so that when you do retire for the night, you are truly exhausted and will sleep better.

take a nap now till about 11. that should have you rested enough to get your work done then go asleep at about 8-8:30 and try to wake up at about 9 in the morning. then from there take light naps in the noon, say 20-30 min, then start a routine schedule till you can do that automatically, without the naps unless you're really stressed, then loosten up and let your internal clock control your sleep cycles. don't do that till you can easily wake up WHEN your alarm starts. that way you know for sure.
