Question: I just dont understand. People freak out more about what is in a cigarette, what part of the meat is in a chicken nugget, all too many times ive heard "you dont know whats in that!" So why on earth would you let some stranger inject your child with a vaccine. What the hell is in a vaccine?? Its already been proven that they cause autism. But whenever i tell people that i have never had a shot in my life people freak out. Y??? I have never had asthma, an ear infection and im def. not autistic. I am entirely against vaccines, and i want to know who else is too?

It is actually proven that you are at more risk for getting sick from NOT getting vaccinated then the small, minute chance of you getting the disease from the vaccine....therefore you are at a much higher risk when you aren't vaccinated....do some research before putting yourself out there to make an idiot of....
I'm not...i had vaccines since i was a baby, and I'm not autistic. So would you rather have your baby, get the mumps, measles, meningitis, hepatitis, and die, or have your child autistic an alive?
The point of the vaccines are to built up our immune system...duh.
I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a totally proven causation of getting vaccinations to getting autism. There is a hypothesis and many people think it is possible, but proven? I don't think so.
Each mother should make her own, informed decision. You getting upset at people for vaccinating is just as bad as people getting upset that you aren't!
Don't think that has been proven yet. Not that I'm dismissing the possibility of a link between the two.
I know kids who have never had a vaccine but still have autism. These are kids of siblings who are autistic and their parents didn't do shots for their second or third child, but the child still got autism.
Correlation is not causation. Yes, some children are diagnosed with autism after they receive vaccinations. But some children are diagnosed with autism after they fly on an airplane, or after they eat macaroni and cheese, or after they watch a certain number of hours of television cartoons. So far there's no proof of a link; in fact, after vaccines in California were reformulated to eliminate the ingredient that parents were blaming for autism, diagnoses for autism actually went up.
I don't think it's impossible that there's a link, but so far there's been absolutely no concrete proof that there is a link. However, there is concrete proof that the vaccines have saved countless thousands of lives.
(By the way: I had vaccines, and I also have never had asthma or autism. That's specious reasoning and proves nothing.)
Today's vaccines are far safer than those of ten years ago. The autism link is definitely unproved. The journal Lancet retracted the index article it published on the association, saying that at least one author had a conflict of interest. Other authors of that paper retracted their findings.
It's fortunate that you have escaped serious illness during your lifetime and I wish you continued good health. But many people do not enjoy similar good fortune. Prior to vaccine, 20,000 children a year got paralytic polio, some dying, others spending the rest of life in an iron lung or a respirator. A similar number got whooping cough. Those under six months of age frequently died. In the measles epidemic of 1989, many children in poverty-stricken regions died.
Not every unvaccinated child shared your luck.
Well i went out to Central America yrs ago and thought i would be ok not having all the shots i needed,guess what, so ill i thought i was going to die.
First and foremost, that is an extremely irresponsible question to ask. To even equate vaccines to smoking is the most imbecilic thing on the planet. It just shows how naive you are.
By the way, since you're such an advocate of smoking, did you know that smoking in mothers is strongly related with autism, not to mention 10000 other diseases in the children.
Vaccines have not been "proven" to cause autism. They have been implicated as have many factors. The only people who associate vaccine with autism are lawyers waiting to make money off other people's suffering.
Autism. A genetic disorder. There is no documented proof of what causes Autism. Some children manifest autism early in life, some later. Autism is seen in children who are immunized and also in children who are not immunized. There are documented cases of autism before the vaccines which are held responsible were even invented. The prevalence of Autism in countries where vaccines are not instituted is the same as where vaccines are given, therefore vaccines have little if not nothing to do with autism other than the vaccine is given at an age where autism normally occurs (with or without the vaccine). Even if there is a relationship it is probably 1 in a million.
Vaccine preventable diseases. Do you even know the number of children who used to die and still die from those diseases which are prevented by vaccines. People think measles & mumps aren't serious. They think polio is nothing. Whooping cough sounds so benign yet children die horrible deaths, unable to breathe. And people think vaccine are useless. That's because they haven't seen what those diseases are capable of. I've worked in countries where children aren't vaccinated. There in nothing glorious or beautiful about watching innocents suffer and die of the diseases you think nothing of. So your parents didn't give you vaccines. Well, you probably didn't catch the disease because the million other parents around you loved their children enough to safeguard their future.
I hope you don't have a child because you would make one terrible parent. And if you do have a child, I hope for his or her sake that you have vaccinated them despite your hatred for children.
For every vaccinated child who gets autism there are 10,000,000 unvaccinated children who die.
To all parents out there. Please continue to vaccinate your children. You have no idea the devastation it will cause should those diseases start to rear their ugly heads again. Please. For your children.
Ok, you want to know what's in vaccines?
Some types of vaccines, like the measles, mumps, rubella vaccine use killed viral products. These cause an antigenic reaction....aka immunogenicity but do not cause disease i.e. no pathogenecity. Now these vaccines use an adjuvant, an aluminium based compound which increases the body's reaction thereby enhancing immunogenecity. Now some vaccines also contain Thimerosol, which is a mercury based compound which has similar effect to the aluminium compound. Other vaccines like the Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus use protein products i.e. the toxoided toxins along with an adjuvant. If you want more details (and if you're capable of understanding normal human communication) just ask.
