Is it normal for my right arm to fall asleep completely when I sleep?!

Question: I'm scared to fall asleep b/c I wake up in the night and my right arm feels like a creepy corpse's arm...it takes about 5 min of vigorous rubbing and shaking it with my left arm to finally start feeling things in it again. I really don't want to have to amputate!!
Why is this happening??????

If you are falling asleep on your arm you may be cutting of the blood circulation to your arm thus making it fall a sleep. Try changing your position when you sleep. Dont lay on your arm when you go to sleep. I have had it happen to me before and thats what the problem was.

Get to a doctor!! I had the same problem and nearly had to have surgery which according to the doc, the outcome of would have ben " doubtful" .I underwent stressful therapy for several weeks but I didn't have to have the surgery. Hope you improve.

Well, it could be Carpal Tunnel. Does your job include use of your hands?

Either way, go to the doctor and ask him/her.

not unless you always sleep on top of the arm, thus cutting off bloodflow. You really need to see a doctor, that's not normal.
