I'm sorry that you are suffering the way that you are, I know how miserable it is to be in pain and not have any answers as to why.
I know exactly why your doctor is putting you on morphine though....It's because you need to be on it. I have the exact same symptoms that you have(except for the fever), no one has ever been able to tell me why I suffer like this either.
Morphine if taken as prescribed and no alcohol or other drugs are added is perfectly safe and appropriate for your pain right now,. I have read some of your previous answers and there are alot of negative ones. Sometimes people in pain get that way after suffering for so long, who can blame them. What I suggest is you trust your doctor and take the meds he prescribes to a tee. If then you have a problem with them, then look for alternatives. Try to keep a positive attitude, which I know is hard in this much pain, but it really helps to remain as positive as possible.

You asked if Morphine is addictive and the answer is yes, however, again if taken properly your doctor will help you withdrawl from them if the time comes and it isn't as horrific as people say it is. It just a matter of whining yourself off of them. Horrible withdrawl comes when people don't follow directions and take their medication wrong. I am on Methadone for my pain, which is just as controversial as Morphine and I've gotta tell ya, I am grateful. I still have pain, but not near as bad as i did and at least I can get several "good hours" a day now.

Good Luck with Your search for a diagnosis, I would love to hear about it if you ever recieve one, maybe it will help me.
Hang in there and try to stay "Tough"lol.

have you been tested for chronic fatigue syndrone? some dr`s dont think it is a real disease but it is i know for a fact!!

Have you been tested for RSD? If not bring it up with your doctor. If caught early it is treatable but it needs to be caught early.
Good luck

I would be very careful, morphine made my heart stop. I would absolutely get a second opinion, or a third. Dont stop until you find someone who can tell you what is wrong. You are not nuts, just havent found the answer yet.

i have to take pain meds. everyday to its very depressing

Morphine, taken in consistent moderate doses, and without mixing with alcohol or other CNS depressant drugs, is very safe. You just have to be careful about constipation- if you're taking morphine regularly you should be taking a laxative regularly too (an osmotic laxative, like lactulose, not a stimulant like senna).

Have you seen a rheumatologist? (deals with muscles, bones and joints)- they might have some good ideas. While it's important for you to get the pain relief you need, that doesn't mean you should give up on finding out what is wrong.

Edited to add: Have you tried some of the other opioids, like tramadol? That's a bit milder than morphine.

That does sound scary.I have had 6 back surgeries and have been on Codeine for years and it gets worse each year. The DEA decides how many pills the Doctor can write each month and even though the pain gets worse every year they allow less medication every year.I hope your Doctor can find the problem and help you.Good luck.

Sounds serious, I'd look for a specialist. I was put on morphine when my back was first injured & don't remember a thing about it. Strong stuff there. I only stayed on it a couple days. I'd rather be conscious , simifunctioning & in pain then completely out of it with others waiting on me, but then that's me & I have a high tolerance for pain.
