Sore muscles after soccer practice PLEASE HELP!?!

Question: if the sore muscles are like cramps you may need more calcium in your diet.
i suspect, however, that you are referring to the usual muscle pain that occurs in us all after we do more or new types of exercise compared to usual. this is caused by the release of lactic acid into your muscles and is normal. this should be better after you get into shape playing soccer. of course, when you do a different type of exercise that is not your usual you can experience this in the new muscle group. a soak in a warm bath can do wonders. it helps your body to reabsorb the excess lactic acid. try tylenol or ibuprofen as a temporary fix. a pain relief compound such as aspercreme or a capsacaine containing rub may help but doesn't work for everyone. if you use something containing capsacaine wash your hands and avoid rubbing your eyes. a heating pad to an especially sore area could help. be sure to warm up your muscles before soccer with some stretches and to cool down afterwards with stretches or walking. hope this helps.

Make sure you are getting enough water. Dehydration can make muscle pain worse and make you take longer to recover. I read a study awhile ago that indicated that extra vitamin C may help your muscles recover faster (by about 10%) too. You will likely find that as your physical conditioning progresses, your muscle pain decreases.

Being a hockey player i know what you mean!
when i told my coach about my sore muscles one day and he told be that the best way to prevent more from happening and to get better was to stretch. straining very well before a practice and after, and holding it for 20 seconds. it sounds kinda annoying but i helps so much.

Sore muscles happen when they have gotten more exercise then usual, or they have gotten pull or strained. if you have a sore muscle in the knee- a knee brace will help ( yu can get one at a pharmacy). if the muscle hurts a lot over 5 days, then maybe yu teared a ligament. if so, call your doctor or wait it out. =)

Ice your sore muscles, use bengay if thats easier for you. The soreness comes from tears to your muscle fibers. As they heal, essentially you are becoming stronger. The best way to minimize soreness to your muscles is to stretch before and after any physical activity, such as soccer. A good 10 minute warm up with special emphasis on your leg muscles, as well as your abdominal and oblique muscles. Constantly drink plenty of water, it's more important to drink water ALL the time, not just right before and during physical activity. If you have a soccer game on Saturday, you need to be pounding water on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to make sure you are well hydrated for that game. Drink during the game as needed but not too much as you don't want to become bloated or uncomfortable.

If your still having muscle problems after taking those precautions, a sports massage may help you. You could get your parents to do this for you or your girlfriend...i'm not sure how old you are...or you could always go pay for one if thats the route you want to go. Personally, I would go on Youtube and look up 'massagenerd'. Check out his technique and have that done to you in your sore areas.
