I have been concussed twice. Both from construction accidents. 1- Got hit in the forehead by the head of (someone elses) hammer. 2- A 10 foot piece of 2x4 fell from a height of 30 feet and hit the back of my head.
I was off work and normal activities for about 1 week after the hammer injury, this one was minor. I was bound to nothingness for about 5 weeks after the injury involving the piece of 2x4, was in hospital for the first week.
I'd say it all depends on the severity of the injury and the understanding of your doctor. I do believe he may have been a bit more lenient with me, allowing me to return to work earlier than normally, as I relied on this for my income.
