SCIATIC NERVE PINCHED??????HELp!!!!?!

Question: l am 19 and i am overweight if that has anything to do with this.....i have had this sharp pain in my lower back/hip on the right side and pain going down into my right leg most of the time no further than my knee....sometimes a dull pain below the knee....most movements hurt...especially leaning forward to put on shoes or socks. and sometimes it feels like my leg is going to give out on me...
ive been suffering with this for 3 months and im getting sick of it. i went to the doctor and he told me "he doesnt think its sciatica" and then said" i think its lower terminal back pain"........is he right..or should i get a second opionon.....somedays its worse than others...but today its horrible...sometimes i can barley walk...and i am pre-diabetic so its important that i exersise. and i have been having a hard time with that. ive tried taking ibprophen to take down any swelling..but it doesnt really help much. any motion hurts like hell...so i dont know about stretches.
please ANY IDEAS?

your best bet is a chiropractor, this sounds like lumbar nerve damage, if it is just muscle spasms these will go away with a hot shower. look for biofreeze in your local drug store.

Youre too young to be having these pains now without reasonable explanation....(ie falling off a horse or some other injury). I personally know when I gain weight, my sciatic pain begins. I lose weight and it disappears.
My suggestion for overall health is to lose weight.
Good luck !!

I am not overweight and I have the same thing. I have had it before too and had physical therapy. The doctor gave me exercises to do also but I can't remember what they are. The therapy consisted of putting me on a table and strapping my upper and lower body and then the table would come apart a little to stretch the spine. Mine was a herniated disc. Eventually it went away but it's back again now because I sit at work a lot. Get up and walk.

I also has this problem. The doctors were not able to get the pain to go away. I went to my chiropractor. She tried a few things and none of them worked. Her husband is also a chiropractor he said to do a couple treatments of acupuncture on me to see if that helped. I was pretty skeptical at first. But it was the only thing that had actually worked, I only needed two treatment ans the pain was gone and had not returned. I have not had any problems with it since and it has been at least 8 years.
Not saying it works for everyone but it worked for me.
