Is it Okay to Climb A latter and Work From It On a Bad Ankle?!

Question: Now I found that I do not have any break, but a severe sprain and achilles tendonitis in my left ankle. The injury is 5 weeks old and only last week I saw someone. I was basically told I still have lots of recovery to go.

Tomorrow I am supposed to be doing some work on a ladder and will be going up and down and working from it and having to move around a lot, building a cave for Holy Week. I have always done it and no one else knows how I do it. I was hoping by now I would feel better to do the work, but still get pain and swelling in the ankle and sometimes a sharp pain if I turn wrong and still can not stand on toes with pain in the achilles. I do not want to let people down as I never told anyone how bad my injury is, but should I just tell I can not do it. Or would I be okay if I was careful. I have been leaning towards doing it and praying that I do not get hurt, but have nightmares of falling and getting hurt worse which would not be good with no insurance.

If you are on this ladder with your ankle and your ladder slips or something else does and you try to correct it...is your ankle going to help you or hurt you in that situation.

It could be more of a problem to have the project not done and you hurt worse than you were before...

You say no one else knows how to build this cave, but is there anyone who might be interesting in knowing how, so that you could direct them from off the ladder? You can have the knowledge and they can be your hands?

That way you wouldn't risk hurting yourself further.

good luck.
