I have difficulty taking my wedding ring on and off.?!

Question: Through months of struggle, my finger joint seems to be a litle swollen, and the skin around the joint feels hard and excessive. My ring is not too small, it seems that the friction taking the ring on and off is affecting my finger. Any remedies?

You could try lubricating with Vaseline. There is also a technique using string. http://www.ncemi.org/cse/cse1005.htm
If this fails it will need to be removed using a ring cutter. Jewellers, GPs and casualty departments have these. Don't panic! They are easy to repair and enlarge at the same time.

best thing for this is to rub your ring and finger with soap and then try to pull it off.
Hope this helps.

Could it be arthritis in your finger joint? - see a doc or have your ring made a little bigger. Fairy Liquid put on the joint will make it easier to remove your ring.

I leave mine off for days especially on my 'fat' days but it fits ok on my 'thin' days. Wear it around your neck on a chain instead.

Make sure you haven't got arthritis... Go and see your doctor.

If it is just friction, try taking it off with hand soap and water.
If that doesnt work, fairy liquid is more slippery...

leave it alone for at least a day or two then hold your arm above your head for a few minutes which helps the blood stay down then use soapy water, or baby oil which ever suits u and pour it on your finger and with a little twisting it should come off

It's just the muscle around your finger. At various times of year my finger feels loose and others it's so tight I almost have to put something like butter on my finger to help slide it off.

Windex sprayed on your ring and fingers and you will be able to wiggle it off. I know this sounds odd but we got our wedding rings at a reputable jeweler and that is exactly what they use.

Good luck!

Get the ring split by a jeweler.

Soap, Vaseline and or K-Y Jelly may help. As we get older, sometimes our joints get bigger...and like it or not, we tend to gain weight after our marriages.
