probably a fever blister, especially if your getting sick. although i'm like you lots of citrus and acidic foods will cause me to get acid sores- but usually in my mouth. fever blisters are considered herpes simplex, and if you have one they may not let you donate blood. i know that fever blisters are caused by a virus and you can spread the joy from kissing, etc. to get rid of it get abreva from the drug store. its kind of expensive (like $12 - $16 a tube), but it works really well and helps get rid of them. if they are real troublesome you can get a prescription of zovirax from your doctor, but the abreva works better.
